A few years back Laick Design designed and developed a new website for the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency (PA). The site which contains information and more importantly event info on that website. However the event calendars used on the site were lacking in functionality and usability.
To solve the client’s issue, we were able to develop an events calendar that is custom to the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency. Their calendar now shows a custom photo for each approved event, along with detailed event info and the ability to signup for an event on the website.
It can now display cancellations easily – which became necessary after the COVID-19 shutdown. The calendar is also themed to the current site and mobile friendly which is great for the visitors on the go.
The best thing about this new event calendar is that all events will now have a home webpage on their site. The Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency will be able to update the dates from year to year so it becomes your URL.
Although the calendar’s audience is primarily for visitors to Greene County, they welcome residents to use the resource as it contains a collection of activities across Greene County.
When working with the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency we also wanted to make updating and managing events on the backend of the website a breeze too and it is by implementing a lot of features that help in event management. One big tool used on the site is the ability for visitors and users of the site to upload information on their own events. From there the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency staff can manage when the event goes live and if it is approved to appear.
