After completing the Upper Monongahela River Water Trail map earlier this year, Laick Design was contacted to produce the Mid Monongahela River Water Trail Map. This map, like the one for the Upper Monongahela Map was funded through grants as a way to show boaters, kayakers, and others using the Monongahela River the various entry points and facilities along the Mon. The map is two-sided and features text about the towns along the Mon from Brownsville, PA to McKeesport, PA, the history of the Mon as well as safety and boating regulations. If you have been along the Monongahela River in West Virginia lately, you may have seen these signs along the riverbanks. These metal signs were designed by Laick Design showing your placement along the Mon River. Working with the Upper Mon River Association (UMRA) and the local Morgantown Rotary Club sign holders were produced and the signs were inserted. The signs are metal and printed using UV ink to allow for visibility at all times of the year without fading. More of these river signage maps will be going in along the Mon River throughout the year.

There are times when really cool projects come forth and this is one of them as Laick Design was chosen to design and develop the program for First Energy Foundation’s “An Evening with General George W. Casey” program. The event features the four-star General speaking to an audience of former military members, local politicians, and to those with an interest in his experience and service history. The program is full color and features information on General George W. Casey, ads from local sponsors as well as donation information for the local non-profit, Westmoreland County Veterans for the War on Terror. With the Waynesburg University football season coming to an end this weekend I wanted to showcase the cover designs for this year’s programs. Each program cover was full color with the background colors coordinating with the uniform set being used. Each program contains 12 pages of content on the weekly matchup along with an insert from Touchdown Illustrated. The weekly content consists of rosters, storylines, features and information on the University. The covers are full color and feature information on articles that are featured on the inside. Last week we celebrated Thanksgiving. A way to reflect and be thankful for the things in our life. In business we sometimes overlook those who make us successful. Working with LaMay Property Development, we designed a set of Thank You cards for this property development company located in Wexford, PA. The cards feature one of their bathroom renovations on the front. On the back there is a space to write a message followed by two QR codes that allow their customers to provide reviews or testimonials on Facebook or Google My Business. For 20 years Laick Design has been sending out Christmas cards to clients. Each year a new design is developed and in early December the mailing process begins. Our 2019 cards were sent from one corner of the United States to the other and most states in between. A few years back Laick Design did the Commendation certificates for the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office. Using that similar design we were tasked to design their Appreciation certificates recently. Keeping the same theme as the other certificates this certificate was printed on blue stock and the recipient’s name and duties are displayed through hand-written calligraphy. The Sheriff badge which we redesigned back in 2016 is shown on the certificate as well.

The wrestling season is underway and Laick Design helped develop the 2019-2020 Waynesburg University Wrestling Media Guide. The guide has a full bleed front cover with 24 pages of black and white content on the inside. The cover features the 2019 Yellow Jackets and their PAC Championship along with a few of their National Champion wrestlers. Wrestling is one of the more popular sports at the University as they have consistently posted successful and winning seasons. This media guide continues the colors and layouts of the other Waynesburg University media guides produced each year.
