Laick Design recently completed the logo development for strategic communications company Full Court Press. Located in West Chester, New York, owner Courtney Walker-Davis wanted a logo that showed a serious business appeal but also with a feminine approach.

Using a play on words with her name, Full Court Press, offers public relations and strategic communications serving the West Chester, New York area and beyond. The logo therefore needed to be simple, effective and useful in many mediums.

Starting with the shape, we developed many logos for Full Court Press as circles, rectangles and eventually settled on a square. Going with a darker background for the square in this case, navy, we were able to develop a serious tone to the mark.

The business name set in a stylized cursive allows the feminine approach to play out. The typeface is playful, energetic and with the accompaniment with the square allows for a business focus. By using a different color such as gold for the middle wording, the viewers eye can be drawn into the logo.

On the outside of the logo we displayed the moniker of strategic communications along with Courtney’s name. The items on the side can be removed or modified for usages on social media and other platforms.

Bringing a brand to life with a new logo is always very rewarding for us. This logo while going through a few revisions and modifications allowed us as designers to get the best result out for the client.
